Home to a highly-acclaimed championship golf course, a gorgeous spa, and first-class accommodation, the Forest Pines Hotel and Golf Resort is in a league of its own in Lincolnshire and among the very best in the country.
Set amidst a stunning backdrop of ancient pines and undulating heathland, it boasts not just 18, but 27 tree-lined holes.
I was lucky enough to be invited to photograph the course for their internal and external promotion. I was blessed with superb light and striking skies, as you can see in the above photos, but the height and density of the trees made it very difficult to judge the sunlight and spoiled several shots I thought would be unbelievable.
To achieve these shots I used my 17-40mm wide angle lens on a tripod with ND grad filters. I found f/6.3 worked best as it allowed me to use a shutter speed fast enough to prevent blur from branches blowing in the wind.
